Consumption: TAP’D NY Is Transparent As Water
16 de September de 2008
The billionnaire bottled water market has grown dramatically over the past few years, and this growth has certainly not been cheap for the environment. Despite the residue, waste of materials, and fuel consumption during transportation, there is a growing awareness about the true relevance of drinking bottled water to begin with. One of the reasons for this was the 2004 Dasani scandal, when it became clear that the brand sold nothing but tap water inside a plastic bottle. Although this kind of event might go (almost) unnoticed for a giant like Coca-Cola, it is still another step along the path to total transparence. And in the wave of total transparence, NYC brand TAP’D NY goe to extremes. With a young look and intelligent discourse, this bottled water brand sells “Truth in Hydration”. The company’s manifesto raises important issues about water consumption by NYC citizens, namely: the relevance of drinking water from a renowned purification system such as New York’s, stimulating local commerce, thus generating more jobs and strenghtening the city market, and encouraging consumers to refill their bottle in any of the taps available in the city. When wit and looks unite on behalf of a noble cause, it is truly something inspiring to behold. Check out more images, after the jump
