Event: Pangea Day 2008
April 16th, 2008
In 2006, filmmaker Jehane Noujaim won the TED Prize, and with that, she had the chance to make a wish to change the world. This wish turned into Pangea Day, a day in which the whole world comes together in film. This year, the event will take place 18:00 GMT on May 10, linking locations in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Rio de Janeiro for a live program including 24 short films, live music, and speakers like Queen Noor of Jordan and CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. The program will be broadcast in seven different languages to the whole world via Web and mobile phones. Anyone interested in hosting a screening event can sign up on the event’s website to help with the dream of blurring borders and coming together through the art of film.
